The Chiricahua fire across the valley was "contained" by the end of June. Originally the prediction, in early May :(, was that it would burn until June 22, and they were right. Nothing left to burn I guess. Other fires seem to be under control, and now with the monsoons on the way, some areas have already had help from rain.
That cat was gorgeous, and apparently quite at ease. He must have been here before, and I will certainly keep an eye out for him.
Nope, afraid it will have to look after itself for food, and seeing its condition, it's doing fine.
We do not put out any food except birdseed. The only time I have relented was when there was snow on the ground and the roadrunner had nothing to eat, so I left out some store-bought, raw chicken. The animals should not get to be dependent on us for food.
After living in the Pacific Northwest for 30+ years, Dan and I left our high-tech jobs to build our dream house in the country in a climate that is more conducive to an outdoor lifestyle. So here we are in SE Arizona, living the dream that was in the planning for 25 years.
I am writing this blog to keep track of time and our activities, in short to ensure we live with intention as this is the time of our lives.
"If you talk to the animals
They will talk to you
And you will know each other.
If you do not talk to them,
You will not know them.
And what you do not know
You will fear.
What one fears one destroys."

I would expect that "bobcat" food will be on the shopping list for the Moore household...but I really don't want to think about what they eat.
